Simon Westcott is one of the go-to specialists for the best in food, travel and experience. As the co-founder and managing director of luxury hotel collection Mr & Mrs Smith, he would want to be. Born in London and based in Melbourne, educated at Oxford and in the USA, Simon is a man of the world.
Prior to being at Mr & Mrs Smith, Simon was a global publisher and director of the Lonely Planet group. During his time there, Simon relaunched and expanded the world’s most successful guidebook publishing company, steering an increase in profitability and being pivotal in taking the business online. With travel in his blood, Simon is also heavily committed to the arts. He is Chair of Malthouse Theatre in Melbourne and sits on the board of Castlemaine State Festival, while being a past boardmember of contemporary dance company, Chunky Move.
Simon also finds the time to be a regular contributor to online and print travel media including Travel + Leisure, The Age and the Sydney Morning Herald. Simon’s expertise sits in strategy, product development, marketing, PR, editorial and writing.
